As Mic noted in October, "CNN reported that those involved — many of whom were students at nearby Keene State College — yelled expletives at police, started fires, flipped cars and tore down street signs." One participant even told CNN that "revolting from the cops" was a "rush" because "it's a blast doing things you aren't supposed to do."
well, While networks endlessly loop sensational video of rioting fans, they rarely follow up to ensure that the public is aware of expulsions, arrests, and other real consequences of such behavior. Media plays a big role in this.
I'm looking for a good psycho-analysis on why some people feel the need to burn stuff in a riot-like environment. I don't know - maybe it's a few pyromaniacs who start it and people just crowd around to watch.
---------------------------
People who riot out of anger - I get that... it's like a tantrum... when a toddler doesn't get his way, he/she may throw and smash their favorite toy, or bang their head on the floor - that kind of destructive behavior.
But when people are celebrating a sports event (for example)... why are they burning things?
The rioters in all instances are idiots, and those making excuses for the current ones by saying "what about those ones", well they are just as dumb.
