GOP's surprising edge on diversity - CNN.com

Penetrating to the brains of the low info voters out there, is another matter, and I am the first to admit that Democrats are better at that than we are. However the groundwork is being laid, and the LIV's will eventually be brought along.

"GOP's surprising edge on diversity"
No surprise. Look at the Democrats golden family: The Kennedys, not a single non-Anglo among them. same with the Clintons, all Anglo. The Equivalent Bush dynasty has many Mexican American Family members. Then there's that evil Republican John McCain who probably beats his Black daughter in law. Boener probably smokes a bowl with his Jamaican son in law

Yeah, exactly. All that article says is that the Republicans happen to have more candidates and office-holders right now (if you cherry-pick certain specific categories... how many black Republican congress members are there?). To me, that says that the Republicans are playing the "identity politics" game they usually accuse the Democrats of playing.

OTOH, their actual support among people of color is at historic lows (about 10% for black people) indicating that the actual voters are focusing more on the actual policies that the parties and candidates support. By that measure, it's clear that the GOP is going to continue to enjoy record low levels of support from everyone except straight white males for a long time to come.

"Another one got away"? That's an incredibly patronizing attitude you have toward black people. Why is he less able to form his own political beliefs than white people? Please don't post quotes from The Bell Curve or InfoWars to reply

The number is 12%, and if every black person voted Republican, the Democrats would no longer be a major party. As it is, the GOP has 62% of governors, the US House, the US Senate, and 70% of state legislative bodies.

Blacks vote Democratic at roughly a 90% rate, and if that should drop to even 70% the Democratic party will be in a world of hurt. I'm doing my best to see that it does.

It doesn't matter how much info you have if all of that info is backwards and wrong, as is so often the case with right wingers. In fact, it's probably worse to have a lot of poor information than no information at all.

Your article isn't about policy, it's about the ethnicity of the candidates and politicians. I really don't think that minorities would prefer oppression from one of their own to empowerment from someone else.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Dems were a little lax on their minority quotas. Their party image and platform is one of tolerance and they've already sold it to the minorities-- they don't need to put a minority's face on it for it to hit the sweet spot. The GOP on the other hand knows they're a harder sell so they actively seek out better salespeople to push it forward.

Maryland has a thing for Republican lieutenant governors. Remember Spiro Agnew?

Boyd's an empty suit + 1 land-grab scandal.

Fits right in.

Enjoy.

Yep, that's the way many white leftists view blacks. God forbid any should leave the Dems...

What is the info that is "backwards and wrong?" What is the "oppression from one of their own" being imposed by GOP minorities? Your post is all nebulous blathering allegations. Where's the beef?
