Sea world put out a new video commercial fighting back against all of the relentless attacks by the media and animal rights groups:

With propaganda films like black fish, liberal animal rights groups are trying to deprive today's children from experiencing these animals. Their show is forever ruined due to OSHA's death grip. Good to see Seaworld is finally fighting back.

Good to see. I have always supported exploitation and cruel treatment of animals for profit.

Ever been to a zoo? Do you not watch a movie if it has an animal? Do you take any modern medicines?

If not for zoo's and places like Sea World many people never care about these animals because then they are nothing more than some concept on television.

Yes, for the few that get held captive one could argue it's not a full life but nobody cares about baby seals as much if they have never actually seen one.

For profit and for the amusement of humans. Yes, definitely a win-win.

A rare rare agreement with you on my part.

And yet animals have been beloved for decades before TV, much less amusement parks. I don't believe that forcing them to perform tricks is necessary for us to care. In fact, a good documentary about an animal in the wild is arguably more effective.

Making them perform tricks is not necessary. I can't say that upsets an animal. My dog seems to enjoy shaking hands. We almost slaughtered the Buffalo's. Who cared?

Sort of like burning down the village to save it.

So what do they learn to care about, one of the most intelligent apex predators on the planet capable of; communicating over of miles of ocean, developing highly organized hunting techniques; and organized in complex family structures, or a big fish that can play fetch, leap through the air and splash the audience on command?

Not only have I been to a zoo, I worked for one for 8 years after retiring from a real paying job. Most zoos are non-profit. Sea World, Disney, etc. are not. Today`s zoos are significant contributors to the conservation of endangered and threatened species.
