But he isnt arguing that hate speech is equal to free speech, he is arguing that contextually, we make it clear that some speech is not accepted and we have mechanisms to handle that and that hate speech isnt protected in the Constitution.
We have plenty of cases to confirm that, and plenty of example to show for it. He is saying that this cartoonist convention is one of them. im not asking if you agree or disagree with that specific part, but the larger debate about how Muslims are treated in that regard as a comparison to other groups in this nation.

That's just not true. The first amendment, which addresses the subject of free speech is subject to reasonable restrictions, enforced by the government. Just like the 2nd, and all the rest of the bill of rights. Every freedom delineated in the constitution is subject to reasonable restrictions.
