So wrong, so immoral, yet they are celebrating 10 years of marriage and raising two beautiful daughters together. Real love? I can't personally relate, but what if she was the exception to the predator profile?
I think there's a fair number of people who are similar.. You hear about the people who met/started dating when they were in junior high or whatever.. Then got married, had kids, and 60 years later died within hours of each other.
The only oddity to this story is that one was in junior high (technically, elementary school when they met) and the other was in her 20's.
I'm a little unusual in the way that I look at it, which is.. There's nothing illegal about it now.. More power to them, hope they're happy. I don't think it's in any way my place to say that he should be protected from her or anything like that. They're both consenting adults now.
I don't think two 13 year olds having sex is necessarily harmful.. Nor do I think a 20 something and a 14/15 year old having sex is NECESSARILY harmful.. I do know that the latter is illegal(at least in the US), however, which makes the harmful question a moot point.
I don't think that he's suffering from Stockholm syndrome.. Or that he's been scarred for life.. They seem like a pretty average couple that has a rather large age difference.
If that were true.. Wouldn't she have dumped him and gone off to find someone else in her preferred age bracket?
She's a predator who is obsessed with one boy. Some predators only g after family members. She obviously went after one boy who she could manipulate. Staying with someone a long time doesn't make them less of a predator.
I disagree that she necessarily manipulated him.. I believe he was 13 when they started having sex.. I doubt it took any manipulation on her part.. You make it sound like he had a halo and didn't want to have sex with her and she connived and cajoled him into having sex.. I doubt that happened.
"Sexual Predator" is an overused and often misused term. Referring to her as a predator is a misuse of the term.

She IS, however, a sex offender. And rightly so.
She started to groom him at age 12 and progressed to sex at 13. She repeatedly re offended even after getting caught and served jail time. She even tried to flee with him and their first child when he was 15. So yes, that is a predator for this particular boy.
I believe she showed very poor judgment and It's probably mental some how. She must have been very childish herself. Now. ..20 years later they are still together so leave it alone. She did her time already and he is in his 30 raising teenagers. Not everything is black and white.
