Daniel Chong, forgotten in DEA cell, settles suit for $4.1 million - CNN.com

This story is not current, the events actually occurred in 2012, but I personally am just seeing it.

I wanted to share this article because Asian Americans have also experienced negative interactions with law enforcement, like this young man. He was pretty much left to die.

Opinions please!

I don't think this has much to do with him being Asian but I found it dissapointing that no one lost their jobs over this.

Basically tossed him in a cell and left him there.

They did. Someone should be fired for gross incompetence.

Almost killed him. This wasn't just a "left him in a cell and gave him food and water" sort of thing. This was "locked him in a room where he almost died"

Now he can afford to hire a lawyer to go after everyone involved civilly and take every cent they have. That would be justice served.

You would like to be at the brink of death for money? I personally would rather not experience that for any amount of cash.

Seems more that he was hanging with the wrong people and they didn't care. They looked at him as the problem on our streets, dealing drugs, not that he was Asian.........

A multiagency narcotics task force, including state agents, detained nine people and seized about 18,000 ecstasy pills, marijuana, prescription medications, hallucinogenic mushrooms, several guns and thousands of rounds of ammunition from the house
