Liberal welfare programs have created a class of hand out dependent people. I know a family that is on welfare and both parents are legitimately on disability and the amount of money they receive is shocking. What is more shocking is their entitled attitudes. They think that everyone owes them something and they take and take. They have the option and the ability to work part time but instead they want to apply for yet another program. I suppose why work when you can hang out all day watching TV and have the state pay your bills.
I know someone that works in a medical facility as a social worker and the things that she sees on a daily basis is crazy. How about the state putting up a former heroine addict in an apartment and giving her a car?
I know a guy whose rental house was trashed by a section 8 family, there was even poop smeared on the walls. The couple were evicted and actually dragged out in handcuffs and the state found them another house to move in to which they will probably trash.
Welfare has created a dependent entitled class of people in this country that do as little as possible. The system is setup that if they do too much like get a job they lose their benefits so why even try?
Welfare was designed to be a crutch for when people needed it until they got better but now too many use it like a wheel chair and they just roll through life.

Yes, I have issues relating to drunks because I was raised by drunks. In this house, with a drunk having control over my living situation and environment, I am not competent. A drunk roommate, with no economic power over me, would be no issue.
Why have you placed yourself in a situation in which your housing prospects may require you to have a drunk roommate?
