Agreed. I certainly don't want her instructing a class my child takes.
Well in all fairness, your "child" would be an adult at a major university. I certainly didn't babysit my son during college and grad school appertaining as to how nutty his professors were....and he had PLENTY of wacko professors.
I'd just expect my son to be sagacious enough to sift through the B.S. on his own.

I agree, my children's college days have long been over, long ago. But I would not want someone like her teaching my children. And I don't care the color of the skin, this happens a lot.
If a white teacher was tweeting hate for black men, that would be wrong also, just wrong.
So much hatred even here and now in almost 2016. If you have that hate inside of you, stifle it, and do not show the students.

And I would hope that I imparted enough wisdom to avoid instructors like her, adult or not.
Imagine if white professor said that about blacks. Fired, death threats, end of career. Black "affirmative action" professor says it, "FREE PASS".
To judge from all the semi-public grumbling, I'd say that that dichotomy is coming to an end. Dunno if the backlash will be too extreme, but you can smell it in the air.
Personally, I think I'm fine with her statements. People shouldn't get fired for their opinions outside of work (and outside of directly representing an organization) and, honestly, her very job and academic background heavily implies that kind of rant.
If people want to really put the hammer down on something, it would be modern academic institutions that have backfilled themselves with nonsense departments and programs. I'm more offended that public (and students') money is spent on absurd 'disciplines' than on the practitioners who have scammed themselves a job.
And I would hope that I imparted enough wisdom to avoid instructors like her, adult or not.
Well, it's not that easy. People don't always get to choose their instructors. I know i didn't. I had ones that i didn't care for, but like with anything else in life, i just dealt with it. You can't always choose the people you have to deal with.

Hate to agree with you. But when your right, your right. My kids had white professors, that got under their skin. And your right, because some time, you just have to deal with it. When you have very bright kids, sometime the professor, and your child, are not going to see eye to eye, and the professor is going to get an attitude.
Thank Goodness my children handled professors and instructors like this, with a mature attitude. And continued on their journey, with the best of grades, and many honors. And two with scholarships.
And yes your right again, you cannot always pick the people you choose to work with either and deal with.
