If not for the US annexing the islands, it's likely that Hawaii would be part of Japan today. There would've been no Pearl Harbor and thus, no US in WW2. The history of the world would have been much different.
The push for the annexation of Hawaiʻi to the United States began in the late 1840s during the reign of Kamehameha III -- 50 years before Japan obtained warships capable of posing a serious threat to any nation.
Kingdom of Hawai'i

Moreover, even at it's military peak, Japan probably would not have been able to successfully annex Hawaiʻi because of the lengthy supply lines it would've entailed. In any event, the Japanese occupation of the Philippines and Guam would've have been enough of a pretext for the U.S. to enter WWII.

Fact of the matter is that if Hawaii did become independent the Chinese would swoop right in. Same for Puerto Rico.
So in other words; you have no idea.

Why couldn't you have just said that or not have responded to my post at all?

Hawaii has only 30 native residents and Alaska's Eskimo are few as well.

Hawaiians are super lethargic and lazy and want a free chunk of the tourism industry.
I don't know what Alaskans have a problem with. They can go for days still without seeing people.
