The Hispanic citizens most likely to have stronger Spanish than English are the older ones who might be strong family patriarchs and matriarchs. They might be small in number but they carry a lot of influence in their families and communities (and that goes across a lot of different Hispanic ethnicities). Seems like a decent political gamble to reach out to some potential strong influencers. (Also probably why the ads focus on life story and character rather than political issues.)

There are just as many older Asians that are citizens of this country yet you don't hear our politicians pandering to them in Mandarin or whatever other dialect they speak. Which "other" Hispanic citizens can't understand English as well as Spanish? How do they make it in this country without knowing English well enough to understand it?

According to this article,

"The latest salvo against the ultra-conservative Senator comes from former New Mexico governor and Energy Secretary Bill Richardson, who said that Cruz should not be defined as “Hispanic” because he opposes immigration reform."

Almost every Hispanic in the country wants to see immigration reform,” said Richardson in an interview with ABC News. “No, I don’t think he should be defined as Hispanic. He’s a politician from Texas. A conservative state,” added Richardson, who said he was “not a fan” of Cruz."

Former New Mexico Governor: Ted Cruz not a “Hispanic” politician :O :P

I have to say there must be some Hispanic in this country still want the immigration law to be enforced.
Last time I checked, we are electing the president of the United States of America, not a gang leader for the blacks, the white, the Asians, the Hispanics, the straight, gays and lesbians, bisexuals, transgenders, women, men.. and the list goes on and on..

Duh

Just watch the video in the link, if someone can imbed the video that would be great.

That is not surprising, the dems questioned whether Obama was black enough; it's all about race with way too many on the left.

Essentially - "we have this box on it with a label that says "Liberal stereotype of a Hispanic." I'm going to ask you a few questions to see if you fit into it, and are legitimately Hispanic."
