A recent interview by Mark Halprin is questioning Cruz's heritage as not being Cuban/Hispanic enough. Could you imagine if someone was interviewing Obama and started questioning his blackness by asking him what soul food restaurants, rap artists he likes or to speak in jive Like Cruz was asked his favorite Cuban food, Cuban music and to speak in Spanish as gotcha questions. Just watch the video in the link, if someone can imbed the video that would be great.

Double edged sword there, if he is TOO Hispanic he loses some Conservative support at the gain of an unknown of Hispanic voters. Thing is most Hispanics are not of Cuban decent so it is doubtful being more Hispanic would help him in the least bit.

Mark Halprin is an idiot - always has been - but Cruz's Latino-ness is fair game when the right present him as the great GOP candidate who can corner the Hispanic vote.

Hispanics will eat their own when it comes to the illegal immigration issue. Cruz dared wander off the tribal plantation by not embracing amnesty so it won't matter that he is Hispanic. Hispanics will still vote Democrat because they are promising amnesty.

Yeah, marketing.
All it takes for most.

I long for the day when who, not what, the person is matters only.

I read it somewhere that The complex political allegiances of noncollege voters—and particularly noncollege white men—get less attention than the rise of the Hispanic voter. The white working-class percentage of the electorate may be on the decline, but white working-class men remain a voting bloc neither party can afford to ignore.

I think it makes a lot of sense.

[MOD CUT/off topic]

I kept waiting for Halperin to ask Cruz to play the conga drums like Desi Arnaz, while dancing salsa and sipping cafe con leche.

What a racist that guy is.
