So fundamentalist Muslims had nothing to do with ISIS? The US took a brutal dictator out of power... and the region is so messed up that they immediately reverted back to chaos. Bush was indeed wrong to believe that democracy could work in the middle east... those people are accustomed to hundreds of years of rule by iron fist.

Means to stop what?

ISIS is an extension of the Sunni insurgency, and we couldn't stop that either. 4500 dead Americans attests to that.

So how would we have stopped ISIS? What rebel/insurgency groups have we ever exterminated?
