The megacorporations will always put millions into the campaign coffers of the candidates for both major parties. That way they have influence no matter the election's outcome.

Only if those dollars don't come from common voters, those are just freebies, the only dollars that count are from those that belong to the power brokers that run the world.
I think what you really want is a President who would refuse to be backed by Goldman Sachs, which much different that what has been asked for. As it stands, any candidate who is viable will be backed by Goldman Sachs at some point.
