As a Republican I have no problem electing a black president just as long as their track record proves that they will put the American people first and that they respect the laws of this country and have some leadership qualities. Skin color or race means nothing to me. It's all about the above.

Colin Powell (R) - I'd vote for him
Ben Carson (R) - I respect him, but would not vote for him
Herman Cain (R) - 9-9-9? Seriously?
Condi Rice (R) - I respect her, but nope
Bill Clinton (D) - will overcome the term limit via Hillary
Michael Steele (R) - I like him a lot, actually.
Alan Keyes (R) - Da fuq
Al Sharpton (D) - GTFO
Jesse Jackson (D) - GTFO

Did I miss anyone?

Mick

I think either Powell or Rice could have run, and would have been formidable. Cory Booker will probably be under consideration in 2020 if Democrats do not keep the wh in 2016. He's only 47 now, so he could even run in 2024.

I could see Mia Love running for prez eventually, but a long ways off. She's only 39 and is currently a 1st term House member. But she reminds me of Reagan in some ways. She has an acting background and is an exceptional communicator. Like Reagan she is steeped in conservative ideology to the point that when asked to name her favorite economist, she replied, "Bastiat."

Oh it's not hard to understand. It's an inconvenient truth so it's ignored.

I would love to see Rice run. I think she'd make a very good president. I'd love to have confidence in the president again.

Obama may have poisoned that well.

We have a very polarizing, racist, and arrogant president who happens to be black. Even liberals will not forget this soon.

IF the Nation lasts then the answer is yes, I have serious doubts about the first.

Liberals see who the racists have been, it has not been the President.

So in order to be considered black by you standards, you have to have a legacy of slavery and grow up in a black household. Seriously Sorry but you don't get to define who considers themselves black or white.

Uh; please remember that "Hispanic" ain't a race and with more and more people going AGAINST anything "Hispanic", IMHO that word will go the way of "Negro" when talking about Black people but NO word will replace "Hispanic". What I'm trying to say is we MIGHT have a POTUS with a name like Garcia but by then, the Hispanic or Latino label will NOT be "PC" at at ll.
