Scout Oath:
On my honor, I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law;
To help other people at all times;
To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.

Scout Law:
A Scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent.

The Boy Scouts do not impose a specific religion on its members; but do require a belief in God. Atheists need not apply.

Nope, not true at all.

How can an atheist "do their duty to God" if by definition they don't believe in one?

The poster said a requirement of the boy scouts was a belief in god. That's not true. So how does your post to me apply to that.

My son was a scout. They never asked about his belief in god.

They didn't ask me either, but we did learn the Scout Oath. Did your son not have to do that?

You do understand that the objective of planned parenthood is just that, PLANNED. To stop these kids from getting pregnant at young ages, prevent STDs, promote safe sex and so on.

If he did and took the oath seriously, he professed a belief in God.
