I think gun control (and non control) advocates can all agree
Local State and City laws on gun regulation will have little or no impact on crime due to the freedom of travel of United States Citizens.
Gun rights people will say something along the lines "local laws proof it doesn't work" and Gun Control will note look at Australia/Europe . . nation laws have a huge impact. . .
and we go on
but hopefully we can all agree. . .local laws are pointless, the only hope is national control and regulation (if there is hope at all)

Even if we have national laws, criminals will still break them. That is MY point. When you have individuals who have a "live by the sword die by the sword" mentality, when there is a culture of violence, where violence is considered an appropriate way to solve disputes, that needs to be dealt with. Look at WHERE and WHOM is committed the majority of the murders and WHOM the victims are.
Additionally, what gun law works when it's not enforced? We already have adequate gun laws that aren't enforced. If the current gun laws aren't enforced, why would anyone think that new gun laws would be.
Enforcing the laws we have might do something. The question is, what does that look like? How will we know they are being enforced?
I don't want guns in the hands of criminals, specifically violent ones. On the other hand, how is one going to keep guns away from criminals? There are things I have to consider.
I'm not against background checks. That being said, this is something I want to bring up. Anyone who doesn't have a record can pass a background check. However, said person could do a straw sale after that.
As it currently stands, it would take a complete 180 to get guns off of the street. In order to do that, it would take violating Constitutional rights.
Yes, you would have to violate Constitutional rights to take guns away from law abiding citizens like myself. Criminals don't give a ****. We can't get illegal drugs off the street, we couldn't get alcohol off the street either...
