The street guns come from a variety of sources... stolen and straw purchases mainly.
Every gang banger knows someone without a criminal record that can walk into a gun store to legally purchase firearms. There is no need to go to a gun show to go through the same process as a gun store.
If there's no need to cross borders or go to gun shows, why do you think so many Chicago guns come from Indiana?

Lets look at the top ten safest states
Vermont
Maine
Virginia
Wyoming
Kentucky
New Hampshire
Idaho
Utah
Minnesota
Montana
For the most part hardly left wing utopia states, are they.
You have no idea of what you are talking about seeing as Minnesota, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine are on your list. Those states are about as Liberal in philosophy as they come.
Heck, Utah is a liberal paradise when it comes to how to run government.
Montana for the last decade has actually be run by Democrats, not Republicans, same for Kentucky.
Wyoming and Idaho are the only 2 states on this list completely controlled by Conservatives and Republicans.
Did you think before you posted this list ????
oh.. oh.. oh, I know. If they make it illegal to own guns the criminals will comply with the law.
If they actually went all the way to making it illegal to own guns (I'm guessing the police and military would still have them), then it would be a LOT harder for criminals to get guns. I don't know how anyone could even argue with that.
