Ask the good general to try closing some unnecessary military bases or a useless weapons program before he asking for more funding. The waste in Iraq alone could fund a great deal of science research, for that matter why do we spend so much on weapons research rather than more productive program.
This complaint from a military that didn't fund our front line soldiers with some very basic needs like armor plated Humvees.
