Progressives hate that you want to sideline their big government Working People.

The leftist NYT is even using single-quote irony quotes around "filibuster."

Joe Biden wrote the USA PATRIOT Act.

Joe Biden's pro-RIAA, pro-FBI tech voting record - CNET

Progressive leftists want police- and surveillance-state just as they did behind the Iron Curtain, and in today's DPRK, to monitor for compliance with progressive initiatives. Good Big Government jobs need to be funded.

Biden wrote a prior act that was used as the core of it. The prior act was MUCH more limited.

Now lets look at who voted against it.

Heres a clue, a couple of R's with integrity, a I, and quite a few D's.

Trying to rewrite this as a "progressive left" thing is incredibly dishonest.

Joe Biden wrote the USA PATRIOT Act two months before OKC was wired from the inside with what office worker witness Jane Graham described as sticks of "gray putty." It was reintroduced in Congress for over five years afterward.

""I drafted a terrorism bill after [sic] the Oklahoma City bombing. And the bill John [U.S. AG last name asterisked by City-Data servers] sent up was my bill," [Joe Biden] said when the Patriot Act was being debated, according to the New Republic, which described him as "the Democratic Party's de facto spokesman on the war against terrorism."" -CNET

Joe Biden is hardly a "progressive".

Why are you pretending to be a libertarian while only attacking the left? EVERY Republican voted for the Patriot Act yet you have no problem shilling for those wonderful heroes of yours. Yet the Democrats who opposed it are the targets of your scorn. Very shameful and dishonest, why can't a conservative ever be honest and upfront?

How many times has Barack Obama re-authorized the Patriot Act now?

Senator Russ Feingold of Wisconsin was the only senator who voted against the Patriot Act on October 24, of 2001.
