I bet you would change your mind, once the $5000 a week royalty checks started rolling in to your bank account.
Ha, I've never heard of anyone getting $5000 a week from that. I doubt royalty checks are sent out as often as monthly in Oklahoma. Anyway, I am not poor and would rather turn down $5000 a week than have a fracking operation go up 300 ft. down the street. After all, the state of New York temporarily banned fracking, due to possible health concerns for people who live close to fracking. The possible bad health effects need more study. So the concern isn't just about earthquakes.

Are they man made? Most likely. The data seems pretty clear to me.
Are they a real problem? Thats not as clear, they all seem pretty small. Its like saying "He hit me 500 times!"...and not adding "with a feather!".
So far I haven't seen anything too concerning, although future evidence may appear.
This is true. They are so weak, most of them don't travel more than 10, or so miles. So most people haven't been feeling the earthquakes very often and have grown complacent toward them as a serious threat. This is because they usually center out in the middle of nowhere in the country, rather than under towns, so most people never feel the full effect of them. Nevertheless, some people are complaining of damage being done to their homes and considering getting with a lawyer for a class action lawsuit against the oil companies.

Now you know someone..... At least we have talked..
My first royalty check off my well, was over $300,000 The second month was right at $300,000.
Now that the the head pressure on the well has decreased and the price of a barrel of oil has dropped on the market price, I have been averaging $190,000 a month, for the last 6 months.
I was making $5000 a week before any oil was hit or even pumped. They were leasing for 6 years prior to refracking @ $25,000 a month lease.
