As someone pointed out earlier there is a huge difference between a minor committing a sex crime and an adult. Studies have even suggested that sibling sexual abuse is more common then parent to child sexual abuse. I'm not surprised since it's natural for kids especially when young to be curious and don't know yet how harmful their actions are. There is after all a huge difference between a child being curious though and someone who intentionally violates someone for sexual gratification. People need to understand that otherwise we will have ridiculous cases of ten years old boys getting arrested for rape because they were playing doctor.(which did happen in real life btw).
Btw, where did you get the information that he only molested three of his sisters? Every report I've read on this story has said four of his victim were his sisters not three. The other victim was the daughter of a family friend. Ultimately his parents are the ones everyone should be mad at. They should of gotten their son adequate help at research center that specializes in adolescent sexual predators or help through the juvenile system instead of sending him to work with a man who was later convicted child pornography and who also allegedly sexual abused several young girls. They screwed up and now they have to pay. I do think Josh initially violated his sisters out of curiosity but the fact he was allegedly caught doing this again at 17 doesn't look good. A teenager is legally a child but by fourteen/fifteen you should know better then to violate your sisters.
It could have been 4, not 3. I mentioned in another comment I am going off of memory as I read the report a few days ago and much of the important details were redacted.
I agree by 14/15 a child should know better than to violate his or her own sisters (and I am not justifying his horrific actions by saying this) but I truly wonder if Josh was severely immature/behind most of his peers. If you watch 14 kids and pregnant (their first Discovery channel special), you'll see them wearing homemade clothes, no TV, not allowed to watch movies, not allowed to dance, homeschooled, limited interaction with children your own age. So where most boys his age (at 14) would've seen more boobs and vaginas or sensuality on TV or in a magazine (or in school!) by that age, it wouldn't surprise me if Josh was extremely curious the way an 8 or 9 year old boy would be. If I remember correctly the only show the kids are allowed to watch is Little House on the Prairie. I mean come on you can't say that an extremely sheltered child is the same as a well adjusted "normal" kid. Most kids hear more dirty language on songs played on the radio (or Pandora, if we are talking abou nowadays youngsters) than the Duggar kids have in a lifetime. Again, this does NOT justify what he did. He clearly has perversions, is sick, delusional, and needed mental help- but I wonder if he became that way due to being controlled/manipulated/sheltered his whole life, kwim? I mean if I met one of the older Duggar kids today I'm not sure what I'd even talk to them about aside from God. Let's see their internet is monitored, they have to include parents on group texts, have to CC parents on emails, don't listen to secular music, don't dance, don't have any social media sites until they're married (which I don't anymore either but I still look at things like iFunny and know memes and the like), etc etc... If you go to the freejinger website there are accounts of people that live in Tontitown who have said the kids are like freaks of nature.. Kind of like Brendan Frasier in Blast From the Past.. A sheltered person who cannot function in normal society...
Ok I am slightly obsessed with this...and only because when I was a child I was molested by a family member and it was covered up by "modesty" and fundamentalist christian stuff. But I am sitting here reading the police report. Not only is is sounding coached, the person typing is cutting and pasting...same typos over and over again. Unless he doesnt know how to spell "said"...

I noticed the same errors with the police report too. Correct me if I am wrong (going off of memory here), but I don't think any of the victims gave statements?! Wtf kind of investigation doesn't question the victims/witnesses or at least allow them to give a statement as to what happened.
Also, Josh had years to discuss and plan what he would say to authorities if/when they found out. For all we know he could've raped his siblings and it was downplayed so to avoid jail time/harsher consequences.
I am sick to my stomach thinking about those poor girls.

I wonder how much money Jim Bob has paid people to keep their mouths shut. How the hell have the Duggars become so big over the past decade and this is just now coming out?? Either they pissed someone off or someone was going after them (probably a person in the LGBT community due to the Duggars stance against them). How did this not get out this entire time?! So bizarre
I said that for purposes of considering recidivism, he should be classified as an adult pedophile. Meaning he should be considered as very likely to repeat, because this particular compulsion is pernicious. It usually never goes away, and you have to watch these guys until they die off.
I don't buy any of the "forgiveness" BS that is being put forth to whitewash the incident. Primarily a sales job so that the gestational exhibitionism tour can continue, generating lots and lots of good old fashioned ungodly wealth. An utterly mentally ill group of people. But apparently from the ratings, people love a train wreck.
Which begs the question: Is the audience to this circus an accessory after the fact? By watching and gawking at this insanity, we allow the parents unlimited financial opportunity, thus acting as contributors to the continuing delinquency of minors.
Yes, some of these poor kids will one day get book deals to recount the abuses, but that's not really compensation for a ruined life.
Hmm not sure I agree that he should've been in the same class as adult pedophiles. There is a lot to take into consideration in regards to his maturity when you look at the big picture (see my lengthy comment in a separate reply to MissLadyLexi25 above^^)
I completely agree that I don't buy this whole facade. How the heck can anything they say be considered credible at all after these discoveries?! I'm sorry but the fact that they kept an abuser in the home with the victims says enough to me- those jerks don't deserve another dime!

This is a little off-topic, but I don't understand why the girls have such high maintenance hair and makeup, yet are supposed to dress so as not to turn on any men. Doesn't it seem like simple hair and no makeup would make more sense?

That makes no sense! I did read that no touching is allowed from the neck to the feet, so maybe it is ok for their heads to look good, but everything else has to be covered. I can't believe a fundie got a boob job. It just makes no sense!

She had inverted nipples and was very flat. Her mother told her no man would want her, essentially. I felt so bad for her because she had such a narcissistic mother and when I tried to tell her this she would quote bible verses that talk about loving your parents blah blah. Anyways she only went from like a AA to a B. Really nothing huge but she was so happy after the fact that she could "satisfy and please her future husband"

While Josh was only 14..the house was full of possible victims IF NOT dealt with properly..Instead I tend to Blame full blown on the PARENT's and Judicial system that turned a blind eye to this..Coverups seems to always expose just who's to blame for many things..Josh was a minor at the time..so parent's were fully responsible to deal with him and their female children who were exposed to this..BUT NOPE..ADULT's in this prevailed..and the children never got proper interventions or counselling by appropriate people...My answer to the WHY?? is because Jim Bob wanted it stuffed under rug...and made it all go away ( Use of proper authorities would have exposed him) ..and used his connections to make that happen...I blame Jim Bob over even his wife..She too was controlled by Jim Bob...ALL Blame right now for me is on Jim Bob..and those in the media (namely TLC) who knew about it and continued to promote the " (Faux) Family Value's" under the guise of pureness...SMH..Josh may or may not have grown out of his need idle with his siblings..BUT no one will ever know and always questions from this day forth..WHY? because it wasn't ever dealt with properly!! Totally agree. I saw the girls on an interview for something (a book if I remember correctly?), and they sounded like puppets. They just repeated the same crap their parents said. The camera even showed Michelle in the audience and she had a look on her face like "oh god please say the right thing!"
