pub - seafac
The SEA in SEAFAC is South East Alaska, it's an R&D facility sited where it is because of incredibly low ambient noise and interference. There is only one of these anywhere, because if it was in San Diego it would not be SEAFAC, but SDFAC, since South East Alaska is kind of a small region in the global scheme of things. It's purpose is to reduce sonar signatures of submersible and surface craft and capture their sonar signatures. About the worst thing you can do around these kinds of facilities is detonate explosives (and by around I mean within 500 or so miles).

Let's be clear it's not an early warning station like SOSUS (or modern equivalent), it's purely an R&D facility for development of low acoustic vessels (subs, destroyers, etc.).

If they wanted to do acoustic testing then it would not involve using ordinance, chances are SEAFAC will have to recover it's sonar arrays prior to the exercises or risk them being damaged. Which would be another reason to not have it where they are.

Talking US Navy will kill millions of innocent animals in Alaska next month.

According to the acclaimed news source, Russia Insider.

Now, why in the world would they spout propagandistic baloney about US military exercises?

Carry on.

Please put aside your extreme patriotism for a moment and consider the damage which
will be done.

Meanwhile, over in the Olympic National Forest (Washington state),
Navy plans to wash the area in harmful electromagnetic radiation has been put on hold until 2016, after public
protest which the Navy tried to stop from happening.
FYI, the mainstream news calls this "electronic" warfare, but that is terribly misleading.
It is electro-wave radiation.
These pulses can be made strong enough to causeinstantaneous
cardiac arrest in large population centers, or heat the blood of all living beings to
a boiling point (death by microwave burning).
How do you know they are innocent?

Don't they themselves kill other animals?

Had some dealings with the Alaskan indigenous peoples. It's amazing how many ancestral sacred spots you run in to that must not be desecrated but as soon as you pay them what they want, it's not sacred any more. Same thing with this bogus "damage to their ancestral hunting/fishing grounds. They know how to work the system and it's all about how much money they can rip off.

And they know the Lefty dupes will be out in force to back them up.

Well, it is your preogative to have this opinion of the news sources I've linked to in this thread,
although I do not believe you have explored them properly.
My links, such as this one - How The U.S. Navy Plans To War Game The Arctic* By*Dahr Jamail
provide multiple sources of information from those who will be affected in the area,
native tribes and fishermen, navy data, and quotes from the parties. Every single link
I've posted here is 100% fact.
Since you're so willing to blurt out what you think of my posts, in such a disparaging manner,
allow me to say that I do not respect your opinion either, as it is rooted in callous ignorance.
