Hitler and Mussolini declared war on the United States after Pearl Harbor. FDR very much wanted to declare war on Germany, but only asked for a declaration of war against Japan. Had Hitler not declared war on us, FDR would still have had a hard time getting a war declaration on Germany and Italy through Congress. The actions of the two dictators relieved him of that task and played into his hands. Hitler was trying to get the Japanese to declare war on the Spviet Union. He thought they if declared war on the United States, the Japanese would reciprocate by declaring war on the Soviet Union. It didn't work out like he planned.

I guess a few hundred ships being sunk by German subs off the East Coast can be shrugged off by someone as patriotic as yourself.

"But you know as well as I, patriotism is a word; and one that generally comes to mean either my country, right or wrong, which is infamous, or my country is always right, which is imbecile"

Unfamiliar with the concept of allies and the fact that when you declare war on one country, by extension you declare war on their allies?

War ****ing sucks. Doesn't mean I'm not going to honor those America soldiers that lost their lives to it.

Since the beginning of organized warfare the grunt has never had any say as to the morality or whereas or whyfores of any war. They only thing they did was serve and millions have died. In THIS country we honor that service no matter the reason.

You have a vivid imagination, I called it what it was in 1941, a US Territory.
