People bemoan the violent crimes plaguing their neighborhoods yet in the same breath say the police are going too far. Now their neighborhoods are spiraling back downwards and they can thank themselves for that. And it's not even a racial issue either. 3 of the 6 Baltimore officers charged were themselves black. What a mess.

Give the residents what they want. Put the police where they are appreciated and supported, and therefore can be more effective. In neighborhoods where the residents support the criminals and refuse to do anything to help themselves, pull the police. Let them have their predators. I would hazard a guess that those areas pay the least in taxes to support police efforts anyway.

I was listening to a local Baltimore hip hop station just yesterday and the newscasters were blaming the police for the surge of crime. They were "baffled" and "couldn't believe" that the police has chosen not to do anything to prevent these crimes. This reminds me of Jean-Jacques Rousseau's theory that society is at fault, not the individual. The African American community bares no responsibility for any of their actions. First it's the police fault for being to harsh, now its the police fault not giving a darn for the surge of crime. The vacant houses are the rich white people's fault in North Baltimore, blah blah. As long as the AA community takes no responsibility for their actions, their society will not improve and this is certainly for Baltimore.

And then those same people who despise the police will notice a significant uptick in crime and claim that the the city is being "racist" by denying their neighborhoods adequate police coverage. And next comes the Obama justice department investigation. Can't win.

Scr*w that. At the least they won't be able to claim the police are "thugs" and aren't treating criminals as fine, upstanding citizens. And lets face it, the justice department doesn't care if more minorities are killed, as long as it's by other minorities. If it makes them feel better, cut the taxes in areas with reduced police protection. Oh wait...those areas with the highest number of criminals and currently the largest user of police services...pay the least in taxes already.

Perhaps when the residents realize how bad crime has become they will get sick of it and do something about it. Like, say, supporting and assisting the police, rather than assaulting them. At that point, consider putting police back on those streets. Until then, put them where then can do the most good and get the most support.

They will be outing themselves as racists if they claim that, because the entire political leadership of the city and the police department has been controlled by black people for decades now. Also, the police force is largely made up of black people. It may even be dominated by black officers.

In fact the three officers charged with actually killing Freddie Grey are all black.

Everything seen through the prism of race. Relentless name calling, hatefulness, personal attacks and invocations of racial epithets. If these aren't the hallmarks of a racist, then I don't know what is.

If the thugs want to kill, we have to give them space to do it.

Sincerely,

Baltimore Mayor Idiota
