Yes, Bush is the most appealing to independents, because he is the least connected to the GOP. Cruz the least appealing, because he is the embodiment of everything people dislike in the current GOP. I don't see Walker appealing to independents.
IMO Walker's flip flopping is really hurting him, he changes his position based on the audience he is addressing. This is why I have largely moved away from supporting Walker, he seemed like a good choice at first but he started flip flopping and pandering to the Tea Party.
Just as I have been saying all along: Bush, Rubio, and Walker are the only real candidates. Everyone else is a waste of time. The fact that Democrats are terrified of Jeb Bush is very telling. Multiple Democratic strategists and officials have publicly and privately stated that Jeb Bush keeps them awake at night because of his moderate/centrist views and ability to reach out to Hispanics.
Why ruin our best chance at winning with Bush or Rubio by nominating a far right Bible thumping ideologue like Cruz or Carson?
The Pubs should go ahead and give their nod to Jeb and avoid all the spittle-spewing. Because the plain fact is that Jeb is the choice of the GOP machine and none of the others is really close. I think the proliferation of whacko religious right "candidates" is more than likely a deliberate move on the party's part to keep that vote splintered and therefore neutered.
But then, if Jeb gets out to too much of an early lead, it would leave us without all the inevitable comedy that next year's clown car is certain to provide.
Interesting that some republicans took a break from investigating Obama's birthplace and kindergarten grades in Indonesia. While some are still consumed with that nonsense, a few are realizing that's more important to bring forward a worthy candidate for the upcoming elections.
Some right wingers are convinced that republicans lost the previous elections because they had no true conservative candidate, a tea-party man...and they need a candidate to the right of Ted Cruz. That will win the elections for them.

Yes, liberal Democrats are certainly the experts on conservatives and Republicans.
