With Hastert we have yet another example of how homosexuality and child molestation go hand in glove. Yet the gay side tells us this is not the case. Whether as sports coaches or scout leaders, gay men have no business being around young males.
Ironically, if Hastert had simply come out of the closet and declared he's gay, he could have escaped all of this.
He essentially convicted himself of the crime the moment he began paying the blackmail.
He would have been a lot better off if he had come out of the closet, confronted his accuser and settled the matter out of court with one payoff.
^^^This is pretty much the way I view it. Have they released the name of the scoundrel receiving this payoff? $3.5 million is beyond belief. Blackmailer should be prosecuted for extortion and go to prison.
Hastert was a idiot on so many levels to play this game.
Also, several people have mentioned that he should have just come out as being gay rather than pay the hush money. Being gay is not the same thing as being a child molester. I thought everyone knew that.
He is, apparently, a child molester. Not to be confused with being gay.
Well, the child he molested was a boy. Presumably with a penis. And he was a grown man. So that would make him... gay and a child molester.
Not that I'm suggesting the two are causally interlinked in any way. But it's double the sin when you're a Republican, right? After all, this gay dude talked a lot of "family values" and routinely voted against anything to do with gay rights, as Republicans are compelled to do.
Hmm... how many Republican hypocrites have been caught like this by now? David Dreier, Larry Craig, Mark Foley..I know there are more. And then there are legions of the small guys, like this one just really recently:
Is this an official "thing" with the Republicans by now? Sort of like how priests would go into the Christian fold to preach all that Godly stuff and then secretly molest the altar boys?
"It’s important to note that the actual practice of making cash deposits of less than $10,000 is not illegal under 18 U.S.C. § 5324(a); it only violates the law when the transactions are structured “for the purpose of evading” those reporting requirements."
Got to be the easiest § 5324 prosecution EVER, proving 300+ cash withdrawals just under ten grand were "structured for the purpose of evading" the law.
Anyone who initiates a sex act with someone of the same gender is homosexual. You can spin it,but all these cons who rape their fellow inmates, molestors like Hastert or Sandusky, and the like are homosexual.
Although Hastert is not being charged with it, the fact that he had sexual relations with a student/students at the High School he taught, is significantly more important and speaks volumes about his character, morals and integrity.

TY for calling out an idiot for being an idiot, and not making it a party thing! A pedafile is a pedafile, is a pedafile...period!

Oh, he might just be charged with that after all--I suspect they're looking to establish the "payoff" connection.
Pig. Just like Cosby, his victims knew no one would believe them.
