And this was just a footnote in the paper. I remember thinking this guy was as crooked as the other Republicans, little did I know he was this brazen.
It took until post #28 until someone tried to turn this into an anti-R thing. I guess everyone else was smart enough to go there, given the Blagos, Rezkos, etc. that litter Illinois political history. Everyone until post #28. That shows remarkable restraint and progress for CD posters.

And stupid. Everyone knows you don't take withdrawals over 10k.
Yeah that was how they got Elliot Spitzer. The feds thought that he was involved in corruption because of his cash withdrawals. Don't these guys read the newspapers?

Same thing it has to do with Senator Menendez and Lois Leaner.

Criminality is the US has become more about who you **** off than what you did.

This will not end well.
He was aware, and did he best to get around the reporting rules but those efforts failed, and now everything is coming to sunlight.

One of the charges is "structuring currency transactions to evade currency transaction reports and making a false statement to the FBI"

That sure comes to mind, with that much money involved it has to be fairly severe.

Ex-House Speaker Hastert charged with evading currency rules and lying to FBI - Chicago Tribune
the irony is that Harry Reid can stand on the floor and lie to the American people, admit it and no repercussions... the media turned a blind eye and there is no legal recourse. This is what the media is supposed to shoine its bright light on! Someone wake the sleeping gurd dog..please!

Something is terribly wrong......and it begins with the media

"Fall for it?" Hillary ought to be doing time. Martha Stewart was put in jail for less than what Hilary is guilty of.

That's a deflection from the topic. Politicians lie for living, but that is different than committing crimes. Hastert's crime could be so serious that he will never be a free man again.
