Agreed that the mainstream of both parties are too close together. There are candidates at the margins, like Paul or Sanders, that offer variety, but most candidates feel like clones of each other

Yea much better
The Obamabots don't like facts.
Hey, just think how much better off we'd ALL be without the 8 years of Dubya's "trickle-down" economics. The rest of the world is still recovering more slowly than America.

There's a fact you'll choke on.

NO............The One is going to usher in the new Era_Of_Wymyn. You see, so much phoniness and moronic symbolism in the USA. If the "importance" of putting a Black into office, carries-over to putting Hillary into office, The One's legacy will be complete!!!!!!!!!

Hillary 2016!!!!!!!!!!

He was an unknown politically (unless you read his books) and sure talked a good game. He could have been a great President had he not been an America hater.

Both national unemployment and the deficit are way down. That is the certain sign of an ineffective president. Good presidents keep unemployment up so workers still employed will never ask for wage increases or better working conditions. Keeping the deficit up is also an important way for the speculators to avoid risking their own money.

The truth of any crony capitalist economy is them that has gets the most. Most of these thieves are Republicans. the rest of us do not matter.

Good point.

What I think really rankles our Obamaphobic friends is this:

The last two GOP presidents entered office with a prosperous America at peace. Both left office with unresolved middle east wars and an economy in recession.

They can see that Obama came into office amid the worst economic crisis in 3 generations and was also handed off two unwinnable, stupidly mismanaged mideast quagmires. Those wars are now finally in the past and the economy is doing better than at any time in the past seven years.

History will likely judge the Obama term a success, while the two Bushes won't get such a favorable assessment.

Sounds like many here believe the US president is a dictator and forget about Congress and that when a Congress favors the president's party it does not always vote with the president.

I believe that the Democrats had a filibuster- proof Congress for something like 72 days since Obama took office.

Obama has used the presidential veto power only 4 times and none were overridden. One would need to go back more than 100 years to find a president with fewer vetoes.

In contrast, Bush 2 issued 12 vetoes and was overridden 4X. The last override occurred when 21 Republican Senators and 153 house reps broke ranks with Bush and overrode his intent to slash Medicare payments to doctors by 11%.

FDR holds the record with a whopping 635 vetoes which were overridden only 9X.
