Um, did you just learn about this? They have been doing this for a while in their subway systems. Not really a big deal and it is more of a random thing rather than everyone getting checked.

I've known about it, but does the general readership of C-D? We see where you the progressive leftist stands, though ("Not really a big deal.").

I just want undecided voters and independents on our forum to know what the progressive left really stands for.

Papers please.

If one doesn't go to New York City, do they really care about random checks in the subway stations? Oh I know, you want to paint a picture of this horrible evil progressive left, but the world doesn't work that way. I bet you would find many right wing conservatives who would support this, just like you will find plenty of progressive liberals who are against this type of random searches.

Authoritarian leftist Oregon doesn't even allow drivers to pump their own gasoline.

In contrast, this is what a population concerned about individual natural law rights and civil liberties does:

Aww cute, you are trying to distract your own thread. Wanna know something funny about this, Oregon passed the law for requiring gas attendants to pump the gas back in 1951, back when Oregon was very much a red state, including Portland. The reason why we still have our gas pumping law is because we like it. It has nothing to do with liberal or conservative, it is just about a convenience that we appreciate.

I like not having my hands stink of gas after filling up my car.

And an authoritarian left doesn't want anyone else's to either.

Neuberger could have done something about that in 1954 when he was elected by the same leftist constituency responsible for pushing for the law.

Authoritarian left? You are reaching with that one. The voters of Oregon approve it every so often, so it is a voter approved law.

Heck, did you freak out like this when right wingers in Arizona wanted to stop brown people to see their papers that proved they were Americans?
