In the second section of the link you can click on each profession and it gives you a breakdown. Did not realize that the first time I looked. Most of it seems logical to me, although a little surprised on religion.

Moreover the left historically turns on the left: Brezhnev vs. Mao, Shining Path vs. MRTA, UNITA vs. MPLA, Vietnam vs. Democratic Kampuchea. It's routine.
Bloomberg vs. Occupy, Quan vs. Occupy,.... "But thanks for all the gravy."
Because in my view there's no reason for a blue-collar work leaning towards Republicans and IT professionals and Bar owners towards Democrats.
Blue-collar workers gain more in supporting left-leaning political parties and IT professionals and small business owners gain more in supporting right-wing parties. That's how politics traditionally functioned.

That is totally false. Yes, that's the Dems talking points, but the facts are that Dem policies screw blue collar workers. A good example is Obamacare which has increased the cost of health care for blue collar workers. Another is all the green initiatives with have increased blue collar cost of living. I could go on and on.

But it totally makes sense in an European political context though. The biggest supporters of the National Health service in Britain are the British working class and blue-collar workers, and that's true in almost every European and every country that has universal health coverage. And, in my view, it doesn't makes sense that blue-collar workers in America are against universal healthcare, unless purely for emotional reasons.
Like I said before in this thread, the biggest contributors and supporters of the main left-wing parties (Social democrats and Agrarians) in Scandinavia have always been blue-collar workers.
Socialism as an historical political movement was created, and had always been attached to industrial blue-collar workers. That's how it was in almost any Western country, but the case in US is completely strange.
Corporate farming has been destroying the small farmers in US, so I don't see why ordinary farmers are supporting the party of big businesses, it's also curious that farming is highly subsidized by the federal government.
The true can be also by the fact that people in IT industry are overwhelmingly democrats. The IT industry functions under a very capitalistic culture, it's one of the most profitable industries in the entire world, only possible under a globalized and de-regulated economic system, but nonetheless, most of them continue to be left-wing...
An organization called "Verdant labs" recently published a poll in which it analyses which field of work leads democrat or republican. The results in my view are more surprising and nuanced than I initially thought. Here's the link:

When I look at the statistics a lot of things doesn't really makes sense to me. I'm no American myself, but you guys might provide some answers to my questions:
Why do bookkeepers, for example, leans towards Republicans while book sellers and book publishers are overwhelmingly democrat?
Why carpenters are more democrat whereas plumbers and lumberjacks are Republican?
Why Police officers tend to lean a little bit towards Democrats?! (That result was really surprising to me)
Some industries like oil, farming and trucking are extremely subsidized by the Federal government, whereas most Democratic professions like taxi drivers, yoga instructor, IT professional, bartender are very DIY entrepreneurial and pay way more taxes than get. Why's that?
I think that in the United States, most people vote more based on cultural identification as opposed to the more serious economic and social issues that really have an impact on them in their lives.
Plumbers, truckers and farmers tend to vote towards Republican because they're culturally conservative and are generally fond of the "tough guy" image that the Republican Party tends to capitalize, whereas teachers, scientists, IT professionals and Bar owners vote for Democrats because they're culturally liberal and they're all that "hipster" "new age" type of fellows in which the Democratic party tends to capitalize.
It's also very curious that in other countries, such as Scandinavian countries for example, oil workers, fishermen, hunters and farmers and blue-collar workers overall are overwhelmingly socialist and vote primarily on Socialist parties, whereas the most service-based and professional career people vote more on classical liberal (libertarian in US) or conservative parties.
What do you guys think of this, and can you answer my questions, please?

So, are architects, most engineers, police officers, firemen, physicians, scientists, researchers, factory workers and IT professionals not worthy?
And how worthy are homemakers, horse breeders, pawnbrokers, loan officers and bookkeepers according to you?
