It's not about jealousy or envy of the rich, it is that to allow their greed and power
to continue to overrule the planet is destructive and must stop. On an environmental
level they promote unsustainable, deleterious, outdated ideologies. On a human level,
it is unfair for them to be able to buy everything and pass it down to their children
into perpetuity - or to the causes of their choosing, because we are all here and they
should not be allowed to be permanent overlords.
By passing new laws or by unpeaceful means, it has to end.
They must be stopped or all humanity and all creatures will suffer.
Don't believe their lies ! It's time to turn the tide against them and
reclaim our rights as people equal to them. They must be brought under heel.
I make far more than minimum wage thank you. But what a coincidence someone with your attitude is a realtor who likely mislead several clients on what they could afford.
There again another lack of understanding on your part. Lenders tell people what they can afford not Realtors.
They have that information long before I usually talk with them
Of the 100 largest economies in the World today there are now more nationless corporations, subverting Governments around the globe, than whole nations of people. That is the dangerous path you and so many others support.
So you prefer dangerous governments to dangerous corporations?
"In 2011 and 2012, 3.7 million Americans reported earning $7.25 or less per hour—just 2.9 percent of all workers in the United States. Those who do work in minimum-wage jobs fall into two distinct categories: young workers, usually in school, and older workers who have left school. Most minimum-wage earners fall into the first category; just over half are between the ages of 16 and 24. The rest are 25 or older. Table 1 shows the characteristics of minimum wage workers overall, and broken down by age groups.
I will repeat, Most minimum-wage earners fall into the first category; just over half are between the ages of 16 and 24
As has been said probably thousands of time MOST minimum wage workers are students or young adults first starting out in life.
Minimum wage jobs are NOT a career.
"Sorry, but if you won't pay your lowest level employee a living wage even though he is working 40 hours a week, than you don't deserve freedom from financial worry"
And how much do YOU pay your entry level employees?
I'll tell you a little story.
My grandson while a junior in high school got y a "minimum" wage job. It wasn't long before he got a raise, then another, then another. Why? Because was a good worker and his boss rewarded his efforts.
He worked his junior and senior years of high school and saved up enough to buy a good used car he took to college.. He graduated with honors, national honor Society and others, while taking AP courses and receiving scholarship money for 4 years of college.
So I ask, All these minimum wage workers you are so worried about, what is their background?
What makes them WORTH more money?
Your precious grandson doesn't have a child or rent to pay I'm guessing. I realize some people end up in tough situations, but that doesn't mean they should be doomed to stay there so the boss could make far more profits for himself. I am not in charge of who gets paid at my work, but I also work in a place where CNAs can get continued training, flexible hours and their educations reimbursed.
I'm guessing you are from a generation where people could get good jobs right out of high school. Have you noticed those jobs are hardly available?
Another fallacy perpetuated by progressive socialists.
Of the largest chains, Walmart pays some of the highest average wages ($12hr), and always has. Thousands of entry level employees have managed to climb the company ladder and enjoy higher incomes. They (Walmart) also offer degree programs, which many companies have begun implementing. There's nothing wrong with Walmart, except through the eyes of extreme liberals, who will protest anything capitalism.
Historically speaking, these unskilled service jobs have always been for the high school and college students as a stepping stone to a better job, or as a bridge from unemployment... not as a vocation!
Whether you admit it or not, the population has been dumbed down, and what used to be considered menial entry-level jobs for youth and housewives have somehow morphed into careers. Can you imagine stocking shelves for forty years, as a profession?
Thank you President Johnson! Thank you public school system!
Why did you ignore the rest of my post? And it is no fallacy. The largest employers in the welfare system-and I mean by far-are Wal Mart and McDonald's. Wal Mart even encourages their employees to apply for Government benefits.
What is good for nationless detached corporations is not what is good for The United States. You need to get that through your head.
There again another lack of understanding on your part. Lenders tell people what they can afford not Realtors.

But you knew what was going on and still played a part in that game.

Yes they do. But many of these posters likely don't know anyone working at Walmart so what do they care.
But someone has to do it. The problem I have with today's low wage jobs is that there is no room for advancement or benefits. Our best companies at one time provided on the job training and even reimbursed education.
Still do.
