Where do you even begin with the mess in this article? Children growing up in poor communities have less of a chance of succeeding in life, because they face greater exposure to violence and crime, and less access to quality education and health facilities, Turner suggested.
These people act like violence, crime, and quality of schools are things that just happen, like the weather. Crime is committed by people. Bad schools are full of bad students. If you move criminals and bad students to a different neighborhood they'll bring their crime and poor academic performance with them.
It's a game I call, "stupid or liar?". Do they actually believe their own crap, or do they just say it to please their constituents? Personally I think it's "liar", but considering some of the posts here on CD, I guess some people actually do believe it.
When I lived abroad, I asked my friends where the ghetto parts of town were. I couldn't seem to find them. Even in the poor areas, people seemed friendly and crime was pretty low. I was told that there aren't really any dangerous parts of town. Unfortunately in the US, we seem to have certain demographics/cultures that just carry crime and dysfunction with them everywhere they go. But it's not "PC" to acknowledge that or to try to tackle the problem head on.
So instead we pretend that communities with 70%+ children born to single mothers, 25% high school dropout rates, and daily shootings/knifings is just an inescapable fact of life. And trying to fix problems sucks... so screw that noise. Free stuff for everyone!
I hate this. I moved to get away from welfare trash that ruined my neighborhood. My parents worked hard only to see baby mamas with their illegitimate trash ruin the area and crime rising.
So use a reel mower that doesn't use gas, just effort.
ha, effort... that's funny. I worked with a guy who owned a section 8 home that he rented out. The tenant was an unemployed single mother who let a major plumbing leak spread and didn't even bother to report it to the owner (my coworker) until much later, causing some costly repairs. When he told her he would drop by the next day, she told him it would have to be after 12PM at earliest because she refuses to wake up any earlier.
I'm sure our leftist friends would agree we can fix this situation by moving her into an even nicer neighborhood, with granite counter tops and jacuzzi shower heads.
So the plan is to move white trash or black trash next door to well to do folks that have aspired and worked toward goals. Oh wait it says diversify so I guess that just means black trash will be getting the discount homes. There go the neighborhood!
But you are missing the big picture, the fight against globull warming. If thieves and thugs, rapists and murderers have less distance to travel to find victims savng huge amounts of carbon discharged into the atmosphere.
I, for one, applaud the prospect of 5,000 Section 8 famalies relocate to Marta's Vineyard so the white people there can enjoy the diversity it would bring!
Do tell us where you get the false idea that Obama is telling you where to live? I'm so interested in hearing your factual response.
I share your interest in LauraC's usual inside information about Pres. Obama's nefarious plans. If he's not coming to take the guns away, he's out to turn everyone into a Gay Communist Atheist.
The culture of fear, paranoia, and craziness in this country is at an all time high.
Did you know public housing now includes culturally relevant neighborhood markets and coffee shops?
