Mostly because Walker himself is obsessed with Obama. He has to keep feeding his Wisconsin base, because if he fails in the first round next year, he wants to be re-elected governor. The only way he can see to do that is to stay as anti-Obama as possible.
Meanwhile, the questions are: What if Walker gets into the GOP finalists? Does the Wisconsin GOP have a replacement for him waiting in the wings? Where's the GOP money going to go? Will Walker drop out of the governor's race if he makes the second round, or will he continue to be a dog in the manger in Wisconsin?
Ol' Droopy Eye is going to have to make some serious decisions pretty soon. he could lose the whole shebang if he doesn't.
Just to clarify, Walker was just reelected this past November, so he isn't up again until 2018. I don't think he plans to run again either way. If he doesn't get the Republican nomination, he'll probably go work at a GOP think tank or something.
Are you just trolling at this point, or bent on proving my earlier point that Walker supporters can't help but bring up Obama in order to deflect from Walker's terrible agenda?
To further expound on earlier, the reason Walker hasn't officially declared he's running is he wants to wait until after the state budget passes before officially announcing his run for the White House. Unfortunately for him, the state senate and state legislature are having a hard time passing his proposed budget because, basically, everyone hates it. Even one GOP state representative called it "a crap budget." There are huge cuts to public education, the UW system, lack of proper funding for road maintenance, an unpopular public funding a new Milwaukee Bucks arena, etc. If that's what the rest of the country wants in their leadership, good luck with that.
Rumor has it Walker may even resign the governorship once he officially announces, though I take that with a huge grain of salt. Either way, I think he's already set on this being his last term as Wisconsin's governor, one way or the other. 2018 can't come soon enough.
