I've decided that I too will become Black so that my children will get the benefits afforded to them by being Black in America. I had in the past always checked my children as Hispanic, but now I realize that Black is the way to go.
This woman stepped down as president as the NAACP after she was outed as being white. She made herself look black and is very passionate about black rights. She has refused to identify her race, but taken this on as her identity. How is this so much different from Jenner? Should you be allowed to identify as another race?
I personally could not care less what race she identifies as. I think heavily mixed race people can identify themselves anyway they want. Yes, I am aware that this person does not have any KNOWN black heritage, but if she wants to be "black" culturally.....who cares? Obviously there is something that she admires about blacks that makes here want to emulate "blackness".
Now, that said, I do think she has a mental problem.

As a Black man myself(as of today), I have to agree with you here. If she wants to be Black, then she's Black.

If Bruce Jenner can become Caitlyn, Rachel can become black.

The latest on this freak show? I had the news on this morning, she's going to be on the Today show. Give the nutcase her 15 minutes of fame, which she so clearly wants. Nothing like rewarding stupidity and fraud.
Fascinating to watch some Black people condemn & attempt to discredit this women, who worked hard for their cause, only because they are told that she is White.
Fascinating that NAACP says they don't care about color for someone to join their organization but once told that one of them members doesn't pass a "Black test", woman is quickly kicked out of leadership position. This, after NAACP fought to end race tests decades ago. Quite some irony, that. Some would say hypocrisy.
She wasn't kicked out of the leadership position. She resigned on her own for embarrassing the NAACP with her lie. (You don't have to be black to work for the NAACP.) The problem is she fabricated a lie which include a photo of a man she claimed is her father who was not her father to do it. She had four adopted black brothers so I can see how she could "identify with the black experience" and it's too bad that she doesn't see that the real facts about her background are far more interesting than her made-up lies.
