IRS Finds 6,400 Lois Lerner Emails But Won't Hand Em Over | Fox Business

You know, sometimes there are things that happen that just make me think we are basically screwed. This is one of those. This country has come a long way, and we have past the point of where we can trust the government. The IRS has lied and stalled on this from day one, and they continue to do so yet again. Seems like just yesterday, Obama gave his only comment on this saying he was basically not happy at what it appeared the IRS was doing.

Simply disgusting. They will take their sweet time going through these emails, and whos to say they wont take out incriminating information? No one can stop them. No one will know that truly cares about the truth.

Remember: Ted Cruz is the only one running on ending the IRS.

The day our ancestors allowed the 16th Amendment, was the day they signed away all our freedom and gave ALL the power to the Federal Government

We need accountability. But how is that even remotely possible when the POTUS chooses the DOJ? And basically, so many people have so many connections to each other, do favors for each other. So many people govern and do their job along party lines.

Lerner and whoever else will never pay for what they did. Whats worse, theyll probably get rewarded down the line if they havent already.

What makes it all even worse, is that the press/media don't give a damn either. They report and investigate largely along party lines. In all reality, we the people have very few people/groups that we can put faith in to do their jobs without bias and look out for this country and us.

Can't be, we're told it's a "phony scandal" and "not a smidgen of corruption"...

There is, it's just that they work for the NSA.

Just think about how much dirt the intelligence services have on the rest of the government. It's too good to not use.

This is much ado about nothing by Fox. They are redacting the emails, since it is in fact illegal to release taxpayer identifiable information. They have to get duplicates out to avoid releasing stuff thats already redacted out on the other copy.

Fox news of course turns it into some horrific conspiracy.

Absolutely correct. However, there is an easy fix:

Consumption tax. Think about it! IRS gets into your income, can attached everything you own and then play politics like Lois Lerner. With a consumption tax it is simple and the government has no pipeline directly to you.

1. Tax is paid when you buy whatever

2. That tax is held by the business/seller who would simply have an ID number and send in all collected taxes to the Federal Tax Agency and whatever State is appropriate, with a report of sale under that ID incrementally; i.e., monthly, quarterly, whatever is appropriate for that entity. No strings to the tax payer. We have the same very simple set up for paying withholdings from wages, both State and Federal. Very simple, easy and uncomplicated. Are there cheaters? Yes, but that just has to be dealt with as it is in everything else.

3. A few areas would take special instructions and processes, but the end result is that the IRS could not touch the citizen paying the sales tax. That gets rid of the mess of IRS and the intrusions into private lives. Hopefully, States would follow when this is proven to work easily and cut down State Income Agency size and costs. Some States already have no income tax and those States seem to be very popular. I know vast numbers of Californians have moved and are moving to Texas.

16th Amendment needs to be repealed...they tried to pass income tax back in the late 1890's as I recall, and the people shouted "Not only NO, but He!! NO!." How sad that they pushed it through in 1913. Lois Lerner and the IRS have just proven...again...that income tax and IRS need to be replaced with consumption tax. Get government out of earnings and just allow taxes on sales.

She is trying to run the clock out to prevent the impeachment of Barack.

That's rich!

IRS gets holy about taxpayer info and we find the goverment computers have been hacked and hacked again.

the we find the obamacare website was not protec6ted and more private info was lost to hackers.

So suddenly a federal agency claims they are protecting privacy!!!!

The IRS must go.......... and the DHS/NSA, created in the heat of 9.11 passion was another move that could have used some thought. Instead pols decided it would be bad for their careers if they objected to the mess that is the DHS. Sure, have a DHS but not one cobbled together with baling wire and duct tape.

If you saw the hearing where IRS officials laughed in the face of congress, you had to think back to mafia movies where the perp knew he had bought the judge and jury. The IRS officials knew they were protected, otherwise they would have been shaking in their boots. Then we have the IRS sharing info with other federal agencies when they conspired to supress the conservative vote to help obama steal a 2nd term.

The elimination of the IRS must be a mandatory plank in both repub and dem platforms.
