Hell, they don't even believe in science, they reject it outright. There is a small segment of the religious right that does not reject science, but they are a small minority of this religion.

Unfortunately, that small segment doesn't control the party, the science deniers do. Which is what puts this country in the ridiculous position of scientists being prohibited from even uttering the term "climate change" in places like the Florida state government. And which makes the U.S., ruled by the profoundly ignorant, the laughing stock of the world.

You're free to follow the phen fen dieters and Vioxx takers into the same self-absorbed technocracy as the ones who took Thalidomide for morning sickness. Go study your alcohol-gene abstracts, and your 90s newspapers that repeated dire predictions of every subsequent year's bigger and badder and more frequent named hurricanes.

Every leftist poet is infatuated with science.

All true, and Christians, by and large, only are interested in social issues like gay marriage and abortion, and remain scientifically illiterate to genuinely important issues like climate change. The people they vote for have indoctrinated them with an anti-science viewpoint while the most profitable industry in world history (as evidenced by yearly earnings of Exxon, for example) allows Republicans to profit handsomely while pushing their environmental destruction on the world.

They are addicted to this easy money while selling out their children and grandchildren, revealing themselves are soulless.

Except that he hasn't.

Regardless, your attempts to sully his reputation have nothing to do with the topic.

You have to understand the mindset of your average American science denier. These fevered conspiracists are not only scientifically illiterate, they are also extremely susceptible to the avalanche of denialist's in the media, as well as their political leaders, who have convinced them that a purely scientific issue is either an economic or political one, and that makes the flat earthers much more comfortable, as these are two subjects they feel they have some degree of understanding in.

So while they reject science outright, they also feel threatened by those who study science and are warning of dire consequences, and they lash out at them because they are told they are part of a giant conspiracy out to get their money.

It's sad, and it is why Americans are the most ignorant of all the worlds industrialized countries. This ignorance is engineered and deliberate, by the way.

"Science denier?" Nobody "denies" science. I do deny that "global warming" is based on science though. It's a proven hoax!

And with that comment, you have lost all credibility, if you had any.

Nobody rejects science. God is the one who created all scientific and physical principals, which together, we study as "science" to understand the world around us.

I don't believe in redistribution of the US wealth to third world countries, which is what the climate agenda amounts to. Frank is a socialist at best. And a coward. He refuses to take tough stands on the issues of same sex marriage, life, and moral issues. Instead he wants acclaim and popularity more than anything else.

Why can't those be his real views?

You realize he is a Jesuit from South America, right?

I hope some of you read his coming encyclical.
You would learn something.
Isn't it required to read something before you blurb out an opinion ?
