Should be Miriam Carey. We need reminders not coverups.

The Susan B. Anthony dollar coins were so unpopular that they were only struck by the US Mint from 1978 to 1981. They made an appearance in 1999 as proof coins to sell to collectors and were replaced by the Sacagawea dollars in 2000. For one reason or another Americans despise dollar coins unless they are silver or genuine gold dollars. The Presidential dollar coins were a bomb except for collectors and are now only being struck for the collector market. Since they contain no precious metals they are ignored by those buying precious metals as coins.

This is what happens when you let leftists determine policy. Andrew Jackson should remain on the $10 bill. You can give Harriet Tubman a stamp.

I don't mind seeing Harriett Tubman on the $10. If we are going to put her on any bill, I'd prefer to see her on the $20 bill, but that's neither here nor there. What I'm worried about are those who are going to come out and complain about her being put on the bill.

Now that it's become a political football, with the inevitable tribal wrangling over who gets to be on the bills, I think they should just pull people off of currency and put on what really matters to Americans. Maybe pictures of an iPhone or something.

It's already gotten ridiculous with Navy ships. The John C. Stennis or (worse yet) the Gabrielle Giffords are ridiculous names. Pure political payoff in some form or another.

I still doubt that they will go w/ Tubman due to the gun angle. There was a controversy a few years ago when a mural depicting her carrying her rifle was unveiled. The artist was asked by liberals to change the rifle into a staff, but he refused.

Disarming Harriet Tubman - Reason.com

Guns were pretty prevalent among abolitionists of the 19th century. Armed UG railroad folk make appearance in Uncle Tom's Cabin. I will bet that the Obama admin will not want to risk giving publicity to the connection between guns and the abolition movement, and Tubman will be nixed.

Quite frankly, I don't care which woman of distinction they put on a paper currency note. What I do care about, however, is that they are replacing Hamilton on the $10. Hell, replace Jackson on the $20 or Grant on the $50; the latter two are celebrated enough as is with monuments, etc. . . . let Hamilton live!
