The Financial Times had a wonderful article today detailing the implications of what happens if Greece turns toward Moscow's influence over the financial crisis. With the nationalist sentiment rising in Greece, it's not entirely unreasonable to me.

Good. They can make Russia hemorrhage money, rather than the EU. Though I suspect Russia will be a little more....insistent about Greece cleaning house and getting their finances in order.

That may be good for their long term sustainability.

If that is their best option, they should.

I could possibly care less what Greece does or does not do.

Great people, proud culture, no doubt.

But their political scene makes us look sane. And their fiscal rectitude is nonexistent.

I'll add in a who cares...

Greece was never going to pay the IMF or EU creditors back. They flat out cannot, the debt is too large for the country to ever recover in anyone's lifetime.

That said the EU doesnt just need to remove them from the Eurozone but from the EU.

Ouza would become expensive.
If Russia bails them out, so be it. The Europeans and USA failed them along with Greece politics. Let communism take over. It is what it is.

Russia has enough problems of their own, like an economy in shambles, I doubt Russia will be willing to help.

Russia would just put some nukes on greece and aim them at Europe. Reminds me of another country they did this to.
