Cruz co-authored an op-ed with Paul Ryan in the Wall Street Journal a month ago promoting Trade Promotion Authority. It was totally gutless to flip on this,for no other reason than pandering. Besides,TPA is not a trade deal. It's simply a part of a process. He knows that quite well and played politics.
Cruz counts on his supporters, A, not having the intelligence required to read for comprehension a pubication like The Wall Street Journal; B, not having the mental acuity it requires to remember that Cruz was for it before he was against it, in this case a mere month ago; or C, not caring one way or another what Cruz is for or against, because he is a Tea Party candidate and they will vote for him on that basis alone.
Does anyone in their right mind think that Obama is for free trade? Does anyone trust Obama. He is a pathological liar. Still congress has given him power to negotiate a trade deal that will encompass immigration and other issues. It will pass as every other trade bill negotiated this way has passed. The establishment knows no party lines. Whatever big corporations want gets done.
Cruz was in favor of an agreement that would not have included the president making deals on immigration. Immigration law is clearly a function of the legislative branch. Some details of the trade bill made public since Cruz supported the bill have changed. Immigration changes to be made by the president were among them. Cruz wanted an amendment that would not allow the president to make immigration law. The RINOs would not allow it.
Congress gave up their right to ratify TPP and it's spinoffs.
Obama has been working on this for 6 years along with big business.
The parts of TPP and it's spinoffs that have been put on wiki leaks should scare the pants off any American because America is going to become a global land of opportunity for anyone living anywhere in the world.
This is going down just like NAFTA if any of you here are old enough to remember.
This bill isn't going to differentiate between Dems or Repubs.
Hillary has kept silent on this. She's a globalist as is Bill. Think of the power that will be handed to her in 2016.
I'm old enough to remember what it was like before NAFTA. The result is Both Canada and Mexico are our largest trading partners both larger than our trade with China. Mexico now has an economy with a GDP per capita about half that of Mississippi and 1/3 of Mexican states are richer than Mississippi. NAFTA opened the door to WalMart, Best Buy and Home Depot. Whereas the US retail market is saturated with little growth potential Mexico has 100 million people wanting to shop at WalMart and buy the big ticket stuff. Its WalMart's biggest growth area and with out the hassles of trying to do business in China, Japan or the EU. Mexicans like McDonald's too. NAFTA has put over a Trillion dollars into the hands of our top 10% so it has really paid off for those Americans who call the shots and make policy here. If you want to get in on a job market for high school graduates learn Spanish and go to a place like Mexico City.

Yes, he will be able to leave office successful, thanks to our greedy senators. Once the illegals are here, they will never have to leave. Obama will have brought them over "for jobs." I think he was giving us a little hint when he was just talking about diversifying the neighborhoods. I bet he and Michelle are doing a victory dance right now. They stuck it to America.
This is why this deal was so "secret", and telling people that they won't know whats in it, unless it passes (?) and some idiots voted for it going on obamas word that there was nothing about immigration in it. Stupid. These are grownups who you would think would be pretty book smart, and they don't read something before they sign it? I admire Ted Cruz so much. Obama told him that, and he took the time to read it, and said "No way, you lied to me!" They all know if Obamas mouth is moving, he's lying.
