LOL If some (not all of them I know) Southerners feel that a civil war is justified as a result of this then frankly, that's on them. That's almost like if the U.S. should go to war against a foreign country because a group of anti-American protestors decide to burn and/or stomp on the national flag. We'd be at war for several decades with that mindframe.

Of course not!! That's ridiculous. The majority of southerners don't think much about the flag one way or the other. It's not like everybody in the south is out to fly the flag. I am from the south and have never had a flag or a decal, and most of the people that I know are the same way.

I voted Maybe.

Now that's a pretty low odds maybe but still a long term possibility. Look to examples like the independence movements for Quebec, Scotland and Catalonia to see how Nationalism can undermine Democracies.

-_____- Of course not. Honestly, this is one of the silliest questions I've come across here.

Think about your question, nyricanpapi.

Do you HONESTLY think that 120 million people all think and feel the same way? Have you ever been outside of the NY metro? Have you ever been to the South?

You should be pretty embarrassed to even ask this question.

I saw a confederate flag flying in a neighborhood in suburban Detroit where Blacks have been moving in during the last few years. I am wondering if the homeowner was sending a message to Blacks moving in or was he flying a flag celebrating southern heritage. In the same vein, there is a ridiculous sculpture in downtown Detroit of a black fist dedicated to Joe Louis. In fact, it is being overhauled right now for repairs. Perhaps that should be taken down as it offends many whites.
