About 30 anti-flag protesters were on statehouse grounds when a group of fifteen vehicles carrying pro-flag supporters pulled up and stopped in the middle of Gervais Street, in front of the statehouse. Between eight and ten occupants exited their vehicles and began to engage in an altercation with the crowd.
One eyewitness claimed tensions escalated when a convoy of Confederate flag supporters began shouting “racist remarks” from their vehicles at anti-flag protesters. The white guy who exited his vehicle, argued and was then punched, was detained by police.
they need to listen to mayor andrew young, the black mayor from atlanta. he claim, the flag not killing anybody but the blacks are still killing other blacks in 99% of the cases, maybe they need to start looking at their own house instead of worrying about a flag.
This will happen again. I expect, sooner than later, there will be some large brawls over this. There are people in both sides of this who are begging for a fight. Aot of them have been talking smack about a fight for a while, now, it's put up or shut up . There will be a few ugly incidents before its all over.
Of course blame and arrest the white who appeared to be assaulted by members of the black crowd.
According to the article, the pro-flag, white people started the altercation. The confederate flag is just looking worse and worse. The wrong types are coming out to defend it and I'm so glad because that means it won't be long until it's removed from public buildings.
Its how wars start...
its just a flag, but people have died for flags..
