It's time that the middle class stop buying into "what about the poor" rhetoric and worry about themselves since no one else is. The poor don't have a problem taking tax payer paid money and they will keep taking as much as they can. The middle class is not in their hearts.

You are right...........I have felt this way for years.

That is why I spend my money on things I want rather than pay income taxes.

The property taxes I can deal with.

What do you want exactly from government for the middle class, Petch? Would you give some examples?

The poor have no incentive because as their income rise, their subsidies are taken away. As the middle class works harder, work OT, a 2nd job to make more money trying to get ahead, the more money they make, the more the government takes. Our progressive tax codes keeps the middle class in a trap. The middle class needs to worry about themselves instead of buying into the "what about the poor" rhetoric. The middle class is not in financial good health yet they are expected to give what they don't have.

What about the middle class who's footing the bill for everyone else but who are struggling to pay their own bills?
Since when have you ever cared about the middle class? Your threads and posts don't tell that.

The median income for the " middle class" depends on where you live and ranges from $37,900-72,423.
The average effective federal tax rate for the middle class is 6%.

The Rand Paul proposed flat tax rate is 14%. It seeks to exempt a part of income from being taxed which makes it a progressive tax.

Obama didn't do squat. Business owners could save money by hiring two part timers instead of paying a full time employee time and a half and circumvent this BS, couldn't they? Obama continues to broadcast how clueless he is, that he has never had a real job in his life.

I don't know about that. So if so, how much is that overtime pay worth after taxes. The more you make, the more they take.

The only people who don't care how much the tax payer pays is the people who don't pay them. Of course those same people want us to pay more.

Am I the only one who did not know there was a cap on income eligible for OT?

Most companies pay OT regardless of the employee's income.

Current tax rates for most people are at the lowest rate in modern history.
