There are more than 40,000 Christian denominations in the U.S. Some have had no problem with SSM in those states where SSM was legal.

Hopefully they lose more members than they gain. I know I'd never join that church just for that.

That *some* is limited to < ten IIRC.

The Episcopalian church has been going through upheavals due to a number of issues, this latest move will only pour more petrol on that fire. Likely outcome will be a split with by the conservative wing .

Evidently the leaders didn't equate losing so many church goers with appointing a gay Bishop. I think there might be some more empty pews this Sunday.

Why hope that they lose more members than they gain? If you'd never join that church, it doesn't concern you one way or another.

They are losing members. Most of the Episcopal churches in my city have left the Episcopal Church USA.

This is a good thing (for them). Should gain them some new members.

Of course, that's the bad part too. Last thing we need is for church to become more popular.

I said I wouldn't join any church for that reason. It would concern me somewhat if as a Christian that people would change and desecrate the religion to pander to progressivism. I don't agree with progressivism and like to see people stand up to it and reject it everywhere.
