Don't they realize that it's still a state-controlled economy that represses free speech and forces people to do what planners want them to for the "greater good"? The way right wingers talk nowadays they make China sound like Galt's Gulch. It's still a planned economy. Even if they use the market to further their aims in certain areas, it's far from a free market. The only similarity between China and the free market society conservatives want is that there are no workers' rights and free speech that challenges the ruling regime is curtailed in favor of blind submission.
We suddenly love China?
I think they're in dire need of a revolution, but whatever you say.

The only country we love with a passion is Israel. They can run their tanks over American protestors, Hijack the Freedom Flotilla ships and kill Americans on board. And all we can do is turn our backs. While sending them Billions and Billions in Aid and Weapons.

This might possible be true of progressive neocons. You know, the ones that carry water for PC, open borders and trade, and corporations. I think you are taking W and a joke out of context, but I don't deny he was a neocon, RINO, progressive.
Conservatives don't love China. If anything I am tired of liberals pointing to Chinas Communistic tendencies when we want to advance something like renewable energy then decrying China for its human rights abuses. If anything Conservatives fear that liberals want to turn the US into China and social conservatives see themselves as being treated like the Tibetans.

CHEAP LABOR! Go look throughout your house and see what doesn't WORK! it was probably Made in CHINA!
The people who control Republicans have made a fortune in China. Ask the Walton Family. But it is more than the fortune. It is the ability to draw Chinese 10 cents/hour workers against American (Union) workers. Chinese lack of regulation vs against the regulations in America. China is the ideal country for most conservatives. Of course, they would be the ones running it, not the ones living in it.
