Not quite. It is what happens when there are too few paying taxes, so that the too many get their "rightful economic equality." Which, of course, is how a country runs out of taxpayer money.
Hope you don't mind the edits for effect. You're absolutely correct.
The euro caused the Greek crisis? No. Too generous social program and welfare benefits going to too many people while too few were paying the taxes to fund such caused the Greek crisis. I don't expect you to ever understand that. You're too indoctrinated.

At what percentage of Greece's GDP is spent on their military and how does that compare to other EU members?
Currency really has no value so they shouldn't have to pay interest on their debt and what interest they've already paid should be taken from their debt. The Federal Reserve should write off a large percentage of US debt and we should penalize them as well.

I knew you would respond just like you did! "What does that have to do with it" :
Well it does have something to do with it. Look it up. I agree their tax enforcement appears to be very weak.
The people of Greece are acting like spoiled 12 year old girls and throwing a temper tantrum. Way past time for the responsible countries of the EU to cut up their credit card.

It's not just tax enforcement. They have too few people paying adequate taxes to support all the social and welfare programs they have. What does military spending have to do with Greece collecting adequate taxes to fund their government programs?
