It's a good move, but I would like to see him work on changing the laws that got them sentenced in the first place.

Dozens? Try thousands...at least before his term is up. I'm sure of it.

So. If a guy had a ton of weed or a joint, what difference does it really make if he wasn't violent?

This drug war needs to end.

Doing a little research these longer sentences were for example the result of having in their possession more than 50 grams of cocaine, these are not street corner dealers.

Like comparing the street thug knocking over the seven eleven to the banker who stole millions with his pen?

I'd actually agree but in the meantime I have no sympathy for the dealers.

So what if they had more than 50 grams of coke? Who cares? I don't care if they had 50 ki's so long as they didn't kill anyone or get themselves involved in any violence.

Street corner dealers are MORE violent than wholesalers.

I don't have sympathy for the dealers or users. It's not about sympathy, it's about stupidity and a waste of American tax dollars locking up people for selling and using something that people want. I don't want to spend hundreds of millions of dollars locking up people over something as stupid as drug sales and use. That money needs to be spent for better purposes. I mean damn, how many more prisons do you folks wanna build?

Look man...there are levels to financial crimes, so your comparison is apples and oranges. No one wants to get ripped off. People WANT to get high and i see no reason why i should stop them.
