The pictures of the private dining room in this link over the years (way back to 1898) were cool to look at! Thanks for posting!

All federal contractors are required to verify that their laborers are legal American residents by using e-verify. It is not foolproof but they do have that requirement in place for these sorts of contracts where items are made for public display or public buildings.

That link leads to pictures of the Family Residence Dining Room.

This is the correct link for the State Dining Room.

It's worth mentioning that the Obamas used their own cash to redecorate the Family Residence and the Oval Office.

They should, they would need wide body chairs for Michele.

Because she's a healthy, normal woman of less-than-the-American-average size?

Hmm. I'm not seeing where $600,000 was spent. They didn't even change the chandelier.

Before - Dining Room Decorated by King Hillary

After - After Michelle Obama dropped $600,000 on it.

I'm sure the right wing republican would have been quite happy if she had just gone down to home depot and picked a name off the handyman call board and used an unlicensed contractor with a bunch of illegals for a quick spray job. All for a thousand bucks and let it go at that.

For that matter, 600,000 wouldn't cover two weeks of Darrel Issa's committee hearings on his eternal Benghazi witch hunt.

What's that saying? - "Once you hate someone sufficiently, everything they do is offensive."

Well, aren't you a class act?

I'd be willing to bet that our toned and fit First Lady is in better shape than you are. And for sure she has a heck of a lot more class.

Spending tax money to enhance government property is reasonable. Spending government money to enhance private property is not. Why are we spending government money to protect private homes from natural forest fires? The owners built or bought in a Fire Forest and should have known the risk.

BTW - I like the new rug and drapes.
