Apparently the 80s called, again. I mean, The One publicly mocked his opponent just a few short years ago for even remotely suggesting such a notion... and his cult following thought it was hilarious, I'm sure.

From the same article:
"When asked about other top challenges, Dunford said China falls right behind Russia because of their capabilities and their behavior throughout the Asia Pacific."
So, just how serious is Russia, when China ranks behind them, yet the US basically provides funding for China's military and US companies provide jobs and income for China? Hard to take his comments seriously.

Basically it's all jacked up with China? Yes, we know. Doesn't mean Russia isn't a threat. Let's face it... election 2012 was a mistake. Hopefully America learns from this mistake.

I am not saying it is jacked up with China, but it seems him and US current policy that started 40 years ago are counter to each other. How is a country the second biggest "challenge", when we are constantly funding it at the same time? Makes no sense. Either he is wrong or US policy is wrong, one of the two.
Numerous products sold in the US are made in China, US corporations have off-shored a lot of their work to China, and numerous Chinese enter US universities; this is hardly the mark of the "second biggest challenge".
Regarding Russia, I do not see how they are a threat either. Backing an overthrow of a neighboring country is going to solicit some kind of response, just imagine the US reaction if Russia or China backed a revolt in Mexico...Hell, the US invaded Cuba over their revolt. Seems some people are being publicly obtuse to the situation in Ukraine. Russia a challenge? Sure. The biggest? Not even close, unless you are a MIC hawk setting up for a nice lobbyist position upon retirement.
Anyway, back to the topic. I would like to see more details about these thwarted attacks, other than "we can not release details". Is the thwarted attack a twitter message someone got arrested for that in "theory" could be linked to a potential to plan an attack?
Is there any particular reason to believe they are lying?
CNN = shill for the status quo and the political elite along with their corporate masters.
So, do you really need to ask?
