Look at the actions taken by Alabama when they enacted HB 56. They pushed out all illegals and it has decimated Alabama's agriculture industry. Americans don't want the want the work the illegals do.
Here we go again, sigh. There are unlimited visas for legal, foreign crop pickers. Only 3% of illegal are picking crops anyway. The rest are doing jobs that Americans have always done. The growers have only themselves to blame for not using those visas instead of being greedy by hiring illegal aliens to increase their profits while breaking the law. There are no other jobs that Americans won't do. Stop drinking the Kool-Aid. Illegals flooded the construction and landscaping industries. Are those jobs that Americans have never done or are refusing to do? Please educate yourself on this issue.

Regarding the removal of the flag and it's connection to those murders. Here is reality
removing a flag that is a symbol of anti black racism flying on a statehouse building with black people protesting for decades for its removal because it was placed there in 1962 in opposition to black civil rights is the honest reason people wanted the flag removed for decades, not just now, but for decades.
It took the death of nine black South Carolinans by a white supremacist correctly using the symbolism of the flag for conservatives to be shamed and forced to finally do the right thing.
That's the truth of how the removal of the flag is related to the murders. It took those murders for the naked racism of the confederate flag to be so out there that even conservatives who generally love or at least tolerate symbols of anti black racism to be shamed into at least removing it from the building.
The same people have and will protest the American flag. Same rationale?

American flag is different, because although injustices occurred under that flag too, at least we did something about it eventually. At least we renounced slavery, white supremacy, lynching blacks, all that stuff. But not so under the confederate flag. That flag IS white supremacy symbolized.
We don't defend illegal immigration. We speak out against untrue stereotypes and the attempt to demonize brown people with distorted information.
We are FOR comprehensive immigration reform which includes e-verify, a secure border, immediate deportation of any illegal with a criminal record and a path to permanent residency for the rest. SB744 passed by the bi-partisan Senate 68-32 is a perfect example of what we stand for.
It's that path to permanent residency for the rest, is what makes a right wing conservative's hemorrhoids grow an inch a week, now doesn't it?

My pet view of what's needed is to seriously beef up INS. We need to give people seeking citizenship or legal status their rights in a prompt and crisp manner, without endless delays. I think in many cases the people who are motivated to do better and work harder are the ones who come and the people who remain behind do little but procreate. So I respectfully disagree.
