So, I was reading this NYC story (story is longer):
"Mark-Viverito in April announced plans to decriminalize public urination along with five other low-level offenses: biking on the sidewalk, public consumption of alcohol, being in a park after dark, failure to obey a park sign and jumping subway turnstiles. Police Commissioner Bill Bratton — who in the early ’90s implemented a “broken windows” approach to policing to dramatically cut crime — is against the new plan, saying such offenses lead to more serious crimes."

And I'm wondering if,
in other large cities that have already done it, if you see a change in your cities. That is, I'm wondering how it affects you, not the people doing the acts. Also, this is not JUST about drugs.
This is just for people who live or work in big cities. Please say whether you live and work in the city or just work in the city because if you just work there you may only observe daytime impacts but if you live and work there, you may observe after-dark changes that commuters don't see.
I don't know that all progressives support decriminalization only that conservatives are not the ones that push for it.
